Timberview is getting a major facility upgrade

7 Jul

As many of you know, Timberview is under a bit of construction at the moment.  The goal is to have the work completed by October 2014.  We will be making some huge upgrades, including a larger physical therapy gym (with an opening to an outdoor patio and outdoor therapy space), a separate Occupational therapy room (with fully functioning kitchen and washer/dryer) and an open lobby area, where you can find a comfortable space to sit and visit with family and friends.  In addition, we are getting a spa tub for our larger shower room and laminate wood floors throughout our entry area and  hallways.  We are also updating some of our room furniture, dining room furniture and upgrading our lighting throughout the halls.

During the construction process, we remain committed to providing our resident family with the high quality care they’ve come to expect.  I am available for questions about the project, and weekly updates will be posted on the large bulletin board by the temporary nurses station, located in room 28.

Thank you for your continued support,

Anne Haddock, Administrator

Also staff members had the opportunity to create costumes for other staff members to wear. The residents and staff members had a great time.

Spartan Race

2 Jul

A group of staff members from Timberview attended the Spartan Race in Washougal. This was no ordinary type of race because all the obstacle courses involved going through mud. Overall, everybody had a fun experience.

MEXICO!
¡Hola! To start off, the S.S. Timberview set out to sail to Mexico on Monday. The staffs were provided with “Crew Member” shirts to help set the cruise ship environment. The S.S. Timberview also had a taco bar open to everyone for lunch. A “cheese pulling presentation” was also provided by the local Mexican cheese factory called Ochoa’s Queseria. The presentation was followed by an amazing fiesta with music, (virgin) margaritas, and a piñata.

It’s time to cool down in Alaska! Some of the residents took a trip to McGrath’s for lunch while the ones who stayed had a delicious salmon for lunch. The staffs were challenged with a “Whale Watching” activity. Cut out whales were located throughout the facility and when found the whales were replaced with amazing prizes. An Alaskan festivity with glacier blue drinks were also available for the residents in the afternoon.
